questions have had reference to that: to
the construction of that portion of the
Central Pacific Railroad which the

A. My understanding is that the line
of railroad constructed by the Central
Pacific Railroad Company of California extended
only within the limits of the state of Cali=
=fornia. I may not be correct about it, but
that is my understanding.

Q. 477 I will ask you, then, if, during the
time that you were secretary of the Contract
and Finance Company, you were at any
time a director of the corporation known as
the Central Pacific Railroad of California?
