KELLEY, FLORENCE APR 13 1902

April 13th '02

Dear Mrs. Sewall,

It seems quite impossible that it is already a fortnight since that immensely interesting Sunday with you! My gyrations over the surface of Michigan eneded at Kalamazoo on Thursday with a visit to Mrs. Bartlett Crane. Miss Addams is just back from her eastern trip, much refreshed, and quite [?] the necessity of boarding for California a fortnight hence.

I cannot tell you with what interest I am awaiting farther tidings of the crisis in your affairs! I came away just at the wrong moment! Of course, I have never had a doubt of the response of the community! But the strain upon you, [? ? ? ?]

seemed so needless and so cruel!

I found my daughter awaiting me here; tall and such a beauty that I am constantly wondering how she occured in my family! Moreover, she has grown so sweet and considerate during this year, that it is really almost a miraculous change!

It is quite impossible to express the pleasure and interest with which I recall my visit to Indianapolis and to yourself. I hope for many opportunities of meeting you in the future, and I am Yours sincerely Florence Kelley
