April 8, 1882

Mr. Sewall, Dear Sir:-

Yours of April 2 has been received, and the position described seems a desirable one in several respects, particularly as it is to be a new school, where one could at once establish the best methods, and grow with one's classes.

giving my whole attention to this department, as I have always studied the classics with a view to teaching them.

I am ready to work this next fall, and trust that I could do good work, as all my enthusiasm and earnest purpose are with the classics.

Should you decide that my qualifications meet your requirements, I know, at present, of no reason which would prevent my acceptance of the position, as it seems to afford a field for thorough work and I regard it very favorably. The salary mentioned would be satisfactory.

The catalogue must have been lost or missent, as I have not received it, and,

consequently, know nothing as yet about the school.

Not being quite sure as to the address which I understood you to give, I will send this to the school. If I do not hear from you soon, I shall conclude that you have not received it, and write again.

As I have the refusal of another situation. I shall be obliged if you will forward a catalogue and communicate further with me about the matter at your earliest convenience.

Very truly, S.S. Dennison. 712 Cambridge St., Cambridge, Mass.
