Surveying consists of Reconnaissance, Traingulation, Planetabling, Chain and Compass Surveying, Trailing, Levelling, Astronomical Determination of Latitude, Longitude, and Azimuth, Magnetical Surveying (Horizontal force, total force, deviation, dip, changes), Sounding, Tidal observation and seduction.

Subterraneous work embraces Mining (with various branches), Quarrying, Tunnelling, Well Driving.

Subaqueous work embraces Dredging, Jetty building, Diving, Caisson work, Subaqueous construction especially of sea walls, Subaqueous Tunnelling etc. Canal and acqueduct [sic] making under transportation. Irrigation under Botanlogy.

Removal of artificial encumbrances includes Demolition, and Wrecking.

ii. The Classification of the Sciences of Nontransportational Construction Engineering will not at present be attempted. It must include the Science of Contracting.
