The route from Corvalles to Yaquina Bay, is said to be but forty miles, and an important line of communication between the interior and the coast at that point.

A sea-coast light and fog-signal on Cape Foulweather would subserve the interests dof general commerce in continuation of the general plan for lighting the Pacific coast of the United States.

Of the twenty light stations of the United States on the line of the Pacific coast, there is but one in Oregon.

The resolution of the Senate is herewith returned.

Sir: _ I have the honor to request that you will cause a warrant to be issued in favor of Mr. Thomas J. Hobbs, Disbursing clerk, Treasury Department, for the sum of Eight hundred dollars ($800) for payment of salaries of employe's of this office for current month.
