3 Inclosures. Office of Engineer,
13th District
Portland, Oreg.

October 5, 1906.

The Light-House Board,
Washington, D. C.

Sirs:-
Referring to Board's letter of
August 27, 1906, No. 1053, authorizing
repairs at Yaquina Head Light-Station,
Oregon, I have the honor to enclose
herewith proposals for lumber, etc.,
received in response to circular
letter of September 22, 1906.
The lowest proposal received is
that of the Clatsop Mill Co., of
Astoria, Oregon, in the sum of
$168.63. The prices are considered
reasonable and, the firm being
responsibe, it is recommended
that I be authorized to accept this
proposal.
Owing to the small amount
involved, I have to request that
the formality of contract be waived.

Respectfully your,

S. W. Roessler

U.S. A.
Engineer 13th Light-House
District.
