I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 30th
ulto on the subject of an Anchor & Chains belonging to your ship
"Delta" which in your letter of 14 July 1853 you state to have been
picked up on Bridlington Bay on or about the 1st June and that
it was taken to Hartlepool on the 2nd June but you do not state
the year neither do you give the date when your ship "Delta" lost
the said Anchor - a letter was addressed to you from this
office dated 15 July 1855 in which every information that could
be obtained was communicated to you and as no notice has
been received here of the finding of an Anchor and Chain of the
description you mention I recommend that you apply to the
Receiver of Wreck at Hartlepool on the subject.

Herewith you will receive a [V. O] order payable to
you at the office at Bridlington Quay for £2.16.5 to which
I will thank you to add one Halfpenny making £2.16.5 1/2 and pay
the same to [Messrs] Bramble & Son on their signing the enclosed
receipt on form 9. which when executed I will thank you to return

yesterday's date on the subject of the proceeds of the [Droit] above
named and must apologise for not having sooner [remitted]
the Amount viz. £2.16.11 1/2. which sum will be paid to you
on application to Lieut Shacklock less 6 for [V. O?] order
