Status: Complete

whether the addition I have made to column 3, in
the form annexed - will not be attended with
General advantage. _ Prior to the issue of the
form referred to - I had forms printed for the
use of my district - but soon found the
necessity of being supplied in the first instance
with the information contained in the
amendment in question, as it will be
seen that, by the finder ofWreck furnishing
such information - viz - whether that which
he finds touches the ground - or is floating, -
determines the question whether the article
is a Droit of Admiralty, or belongs to the Lord
of the manor - should the shore on which found
be a manor - and the claiming Lord has estab-
lished his right. If found floating - By briefly stating
the distance from land - and how he brought it on shore
the history of the wrecked article is complete. Such
information is desirable in innumerable cases
of small articles which are either washed on shore
by the tide - or brought to land by boatmen & others.
