In re Investigation into the loss of the "North Sea"
7 July 1859
Sir,
With reference to your letter of the 2 Inst, I beg to acquaint you
that the "arctic" did not leave Riga, so soon as expected consequently
did not arrive here till this morning. The Stipendiay Magistrate
has therefore fixed Tuesday next the 12th Inst, at 11 O'clock in the fore-
-noon, to investigate into the matter, He could not fix Mon-
-day as it sometimes happens that that day is heavy from having
