A lovely day. Four cart loads of
timber arrived & ive got a good bit
of the framework up. Planes &
[battle] planes up all day. We have
a free time here but don't do very
well for meals. As darkness set in
the sky was spotted with shell marks
& it was a great sight watching the
flashes from a gun on one of the planes.
[Centre] 25 Friday

Guns & aeroplanes again busy.
Finished framework of building.
Party of 12 more 8th F. A. arrived to
make drain. 2 9.8 howitizers
dragged along the road by tractor Engine.
Gas let off in school next to us. Still
on half rations. Our aeroplanes busy not down
[Centre] 26 Saturday
Still on building. Heard that Wilson
was wounded on the night of the charge
& Stanton a pris of war in Germany.
Advanced guard 1st & 2nd Aust Div
arrived. Went to Sailly baths in afternoon
at 3.30. Met [Middlecost]
[Centre] 27 Sunday - 10th after Trinity
At 2 am they woke the cooks up 15th had
breakfast at 4.30. and went off to trenches.
An attack was to have been made
but they all returned later. Some of us
went out harvesting. More guns arrived
No work on building.
