ago we sighted a seal
right alongside, while today
we saw a whale & a number
of porpise. Some miles out
of our course owing to
presence of mine-layer
which escaped through
Suez. Will not see land
until we come to Red Sea.
Yesterday lost purse with
£2 - 5/- in it. Miserable
on board as far with a
few hundred men in one
hold especially at night.
