18 FUNERAL.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorrup-
tion, and this moral shall have put on immortality, then
shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death
is swallowed up in victory. 1 Cor. xv, 54.

For we know that, if our earthly house of this tabernacle
were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not
made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Cor. v, 7.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor cry-
ing, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former
things are passed away. Rev. xxi, 4.

And there shall be no night there; and they need no
candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth
them light: and they shall reign forever and ever. Rev.
xxii, 5.

And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet
in my flesh shall I see God: Job xix, 26.

Whom I shall see for myelf, and mine eyes shall be-
hold, and not another; through my reins be consumed
within me. Job xix, 27.

For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living.

And whosoever liveth, and believeth in me, shall never
