Thursday 5 this morning
is clear but very cold
visited the hospital this morning
distributed some tracts the Col
quarter master & daughter and
Mr. Parker from Port deposit and myself
visited the Natural Cave on the
Potomak little over a mile above
the town it is certainly a great
curiosity we all entered the cave
with a lighted candle in our
hand we trecked in it (__) about
five minutes when it began to
look rather dismal and dangerous
the young lady and I concluded
to beat a retreat and after having
bid the party good by we came
out the party traveled on exploring
the dismal cave and was almost
1/2 hour and still did not meet the
terminal of the cave Visited Mr
Winters family in the town the sister
of the lady whose child I babtized
had meeting to night in Co K
am in good health for which I
feal thankfull
