his grave

Sunday 15 very wett & raining
here hear cannonading receive
orders to be ready at a moment
notice it looked a little
Squalls for a whil Set me the
field and Staff to mess
I sleep with the Col & Major
read the scripture to them & sang

Monday 16 am in good health
except cold remins about
amongst the men. they were glad
to see me from
Alexandria to Culpeper 56 miles
the county is completely disaster
the cars are running through
to Culpeper

Tuesday 17 very warm
walked out and saw the Col
drilling Comp G after which
he gave them a lecture on
Military tactics and on
moralls which will have its
influence for good
