1864 August 3rd Finished getting & halling up
boards for Hen House. Shrubing on branch
for corn & to day cutting oats on Creek

8th Sewed Turnips shrubing on branch
for corn & yesterday it rained & day
before yesterday 6th it Rained finely

12 I have been to Lynchg & got
some clothes for Mrs Hunts children
hard dry times over that way. We
have been shrubing for corn & toped
over our tobacco & wormed to day & sewed
Turnip seed in new ground

13. 14. 15 16 17 We have been getting
up apples gringing [grinding] them shrubing
going to meeting some etc etc

18 & 19 Fine Rains & warm weather
most too late for corn crops
tho it will make many nubbins
where there would not have been nothing
I went to Wallers Mr Faris to see about
my molasses mill Mr Shelton & Mrs
Markhams to get Pride clothes & to
Farthings rained last night, wormed
& top over over our Tobacco &
working young corn our road
Planted 10 Augt 1864
