Monday, June 17, 1918
We had a good shower this morning it was badly needed. Ben and Paul replanted tobacco all day after it quit raining.
Josie and Ben went over to the school house to get the things that was left Sat night. I worked a little in the garden.
Josie went up to Marvins a while. Mollie Reynolds come with her back.
Mrs Owens sent us a mess of snaps this evening. I am glad of them.

Tuesday, June 18, 1918
A good day. Ben planted some beans this morning then they plowed corn for Mr Owen. Josie got dinner. Mrs Owen gave us some scraple so she knowed what to cook. I washed a few things this morning. Henry and Edna helped wash some guano sacks.
I finished getting up the onions this evening. Henry and I thinned the corn on the branch. Beatrice Owen brought a dress for Josie to make this week.
Paul Bennett has gone to the school house to night.

Tuesday, July 2, 1918
A good bright day.
The men folks plowed in the corn. Marvin got up hay. Josie washed.
Mrs Owen and Mrs Winston and Hattie Gilbert all gave us a mess of snaps to day. We have got good neighbors.
This evening Henry and I walked to Mr Creasys fish pond. The water is so low that you cant fish in it to catch anything.
We come back by Kates. She was at home by her self. Virginia was at Reynolds's. 10 oclock
Sunday, July 21, 1918
A good day. Ben went to Mr Edmons this morning. He went with Marvin Smith all of the rest staid at home. Reese and Paul come and played with the children. Marvin and Carrie and the little children come a few minutes on the car and carried the boys home.
We had butter beans for dinner. Mrs Owen gave them to us. Josie got dinner. I got breakfast and milked and churned. I have not bin well today. Hope I may feel better by morning.
Josie is playing the piano and Ben the violin.

Wednesday, July 31, 1918
A little rain today.
Ben and Paul topped tobacco a while today.
Josie got dinner. She made a stew and had snaps and cymblins and corn all good. Mrs Owens come a while. We all went and looked at the garden then to the tobacco ground to see the tomatoes and water mellons and bean patch.
I went to Marvins a few minutes. Their cow is sick. I wrote to Evylin Brumfield today.
I have fixed some butter to night for Kate Harvey. [scratchy ink blots] I guess I have the meanest pen about here.
