Wednesday, June 12, 1918
Clear most of the day a sprinkle of rain this evening. The men finished workin over their tobacco to day and cut some wheat.
Josie and [I] washed to day and then got dinner.
Josie and I and the children went to Marvins this evening. Ben and Josie and Paul Bennett went to Mount Airy to night to an ice cream supper.
Nat Woodings car broke down to day he was at Mr Edmons. Ben let him have his to make his round on. He brought it back be fore night.

Thursday, June 13, 1918
A clear day. Ben finished cutting wheat to day.
Josie ironed some. I got dinner. Denia come a while this morning. Kate and Lee and two of Lees children come a little while this morning. Lee was looking for tobacco plants.
I went to Marvins a little while this evening. We got supper before night today and Ben and Josie and the children all went to Jim Powers and have not got back yet.

Thursday, June 20, 1918
A good day. Ben and Owen finished getting up wheat and rye this morning. Ben and Marvin went to Hubbards this evening. Josie finished Beatrice Owens dress this evening. I got the dinner.
This evening Grace Brumfield and I went to the river fishing. Caught eels.
Got home at dark. Josie had milked and got supper. I was glad. I was tired. I got a letter from Mary Brumfield. I am glad to hear from them.

Saturday, June 29, 1918
Josie got dinner. She baked a cake and fixed for supper at Stanton High School. They will be a play there to night by some of the Renan crowd.
Paul went a bout 2 in the evening. I hope that they may make good. The proceeds will go to the Red Cross.

Wednesday, July 3, 1918
A good day. Ben and Paul plowed tobacco this morning. Ben plowed the sweet potatoes. This evening Ben mowed. Josie got dinner. I churned and worked some in the garden. Josie tried to find some black berries found enough for supper with cream.
Heard today that Posies baby is sick hope she may get well.
Mr Owen has bin sick to day. Hope he may be able to work by in the morning.
