Sunday, September 29, 1918
A good day. Rob Hubbard and family spent the day here. Ben carried them home. Josie went with them. This evening George and Denia and Otho and Sallie Blair come here. Lizzie Bennett went with them home.
The children and I eat our supper and the children have all gone to bed.
Ben and Josie have not come home yet.
8 o clock
Friday, October 11, 1918
A good day. The men folks plowed this morning. This evening Mr Owen raked pea vines. Ben went to Mr Bailiss. Josie and I stripped a little tobacco. We got our dinner this morning before we went to the barn cooked snaps and baked bread.
Come home at twelve and made coffee.
In the evening the tobacco dried out so we could not tie it. I picked up some apples and gathered some snaps. We went to Carries and strung our snaps. Come home. Josie got supper. I fed the chickens. Henry and I fed the hogs. We had to shuck the corn then I churned.
Ben has just got back from Bailiss and eat his supper.

Tuesday, November 5, 1918
A good day. Ben is one of the Judges at Elections. He was at Renan all day. Mr Owen hauled some wood. We needed it mighty bad.
Josie and I and Reese put some tobacco in the pit. Josie staid at home and got dinner for her self and Edna and Franklin. Marvin carried Reese and Henry and I to Banister River to fish. We caught twenty one fish.
Carrie gave us a nice mess of steak we had it for supper.
Heard today that Max Creasy died this morning. I am sorry for the family.
I have shelled a few beans to night. Am most a sleep now. Heard today that Jessie Hutcherson is at home on furlow for 48 hours.

Thursday, November 21, 1918
A good day. Ben and Owen hauled wood. Josie sewed a little. I got dinner. This evening I went to George Blairs they were all well.
Ben loaded the waggon with tobacco. Owen and Josie helped him. Irvin Harvey brought a few sticks of tobacco to carrie to market. They put it on the waggon be fore they eat supper.
Ben got a letter from Paul Bennett this evening.
Marvin sent a load of wood to the school house to day. Lee B sent one yesterday.
Murphist Harvey finished his work at Marvins to day.

Thursday, November 28, 1918
A very rainy day. Miss Janie and the children went to school. Ben has bin complaining all day. He hitched the horses to the waggon and started to meet the children met them nearly at home.
Virginia Harvey come with Janie home.
Mrs Carr has bin sick all day. Josie got supper . She cooked a chicken and made cocoanut pies. They were fine. I have set by the fire more than common to day and have enjoyed it. I have had a very good fire tonight for which I am glad.
This is the night of Thanks Giving day.
