A little rain to day. The men folks worked in the tobacco most all day.
Josie got dinner. I worked in the garden a while. Josie gathered some snaps this evening and we strung them tonight.
William Gilbert gathered two gallons cheries for us to day. Josie and I seeded them this evening.

Thursday, June 12, 1919
A good day. We had a very hard rain just before day this morning. The men cut some wheat to day.
I got dinner. Josie was sick. We had our first mess of snaps.
This evening Edna and I went to Ren Worsham's. Found them all well as could be expected. Mr Jessie Hutcherson & John Hutcherson was cutting wheat. Also Ren was cutting two. Workeing 4 horses. Edna and I walked. Ren insisted that we let him bring us home. I would not let him.

Friday, July 4, 1919
A good day. The men folks all plowed. Josie got dinner. She cooked snaps and cymblins and potatoes and beets and baked apples. This evening I went with Gladdis and Hugh and Aubry Brumfield fishing. We caught a lot of little fish.
I come by Blairs. The men folks was stackin hay & oats. Several of the people a round went to Gretna & Altavista and some to South Boston.
Jim planted some corn & beans this evening.

Friday, July 25, 1919
A good day. Ben helped the Edmons build a barn. Jim and Marvin come from Chatham to day. They had bin on a jurie.
Josie cooked a big pot of snaps. She ironed most of the day and is sick to night.
Ben carried Henry & I to White Falls. I caught several small fish. Jack Harvey come & got the team & waggon and went to the mill for his mother and hauled some wood. Alma is at Marvins to night.

Thursday, July 31, 1919
A good day but a hard thunder cloud and hard rain tonight. Jim plowed a little to day. Ben went to Greenfield & Chalk Level this evening. Mr. Owen went to Strait Stone to preaching this evening.
Josie staid at home and got dinner. She cooked snaps and potatoes and corn. I certainly did enjoy my dinner.
Marvin carried Mary & Edna Brumfield and I to Worshams pond. I caugh one nice fish.
Mary went to Preaching this evening. To night she is at George Blairs. Paul Bennett carried her. I am so glad that Ben got home before it rained.
