A good day. Ben & Owen and Jim finished cutting corn.
Josie made Edna a dress and made some pickel of pears that she brought from her mothers orchard.
Marvin went to the saw mill twice today. Carrie washed some and ironed. William and Hattie Gilbert (col) picked peas.
I wrote Fannie Emerson a letter today. I went to Marvins this evening. Edna and Franklin went with me. We came by the orchard and picked up some apples.

Tuesday, September 23, 1919
Cloudy most of the day and some rain.
Jim & Ben stripped tobacco the most of the day.
Mr. Owen went to the island for guano. William Gilbert (col) went for Kate Harveys guano with Marvin Smiths team.
Jim B is helpin Henry with his lessons. Ben has gone possum hunting.
Josie made Edna some under pants to day.
I went this evening and got some sweet potatoes and washed them ready to cook. I ironed some this morning. Josie got most of the dinner.
Ben found Mr. Owens cow with a little calf to day.

Thursday, December 4, 1919
A cloudy day most of the time. Ben & Jim killed hogs. Ben had four & Jim two. Marvin Smith and Sam Owen and William Gilbert (col) helped them.
Betty Haley (col) helped me. We got on fine.
Josie got dinner. She dried out some of the fat.
Jim & Ben went to Renan to night.
The children are playing domminoes to night.

Tuesday, December 9, 1919
A rainy bad day. Jim & Ben could not do anything much.
Josie got dinner. Bessie (col) washed some. This evening Bessie went a way from here.
I cooked the chidlins at the wash house. I cleaned up the cabbin this morning.
I went to William Gilberts (col) a few minutes & come by Marvins. Carrie was sewing on her a dress.
Jim & Ben caught a rabbit just at night. Josie dressed it.
Henry & Edna got in the wood to night. Guess they will have that to do now Bess is gone.
I boiled the first of our offal to day.

Wednesday, December 24, 1919
A good day. Colde tonight. Ben & I went to Strait Stone and bought several things. Mr Sam Owen went to the mill. Carried some corn for us.
Josie baked some cakes. Give William Gilbert one.
Ren & Ethel Worsham sent me a nice sweater for a Xmas gift. Josie and I had a card from Irene Dyer. This evening I had one from Julia Fergerson. Guess she is at her fathers tonight.
Henry killed two ducks today and I dressed them.
I don't think that Henry can go to sleep tonight for wanting to know what Santy will bring.
Well I may never see another Xmas. We have bin well all the year. Have not missed a night waiting on account of sickness.
