Wednesday, April 5, 1922
A good day. Ben plowed under rye. Jim plowed some in the garden and planted potatoes & onions. Josie and I finished the quilting. Josie milked. The cow kicked her and hurt her leg. Ben milked that cow tonight.
I finished two of Josies quilts this evening. Josie made Mable some drawers this evening. Mabel has cried a lot today. I think that something hurts her. Norman Booker traded horses today.
Three of the children went to school.
Tuesday, April 11, 1922
A very windy day and some rain. Lee and Oscar come and got two loads of corn stalks this morning. Ben finished plowing in the orchard today. Jim made a hot bed to day and worked in the garden half the day. The children went to school. Mabel has a bad colde and is so cross that we cant hardly stand her. Josie has sewed some today. I fixed some on my chicken coops and sewed on my quilt a little. I have wrote Carrie a letter to night. Now it is time that we was in bed.
Wednesday, April 12, 1922
A very good day. Ben plowed all day. Jim cleaned up the land for Ben to plow. Henry plowed a little after he come from school. Josie ironed this morning. I churned and got dinner this evening. I went to George Blairs. Denia was not at home she had gone to Rey Worshams. Ethel has a new boy. I hope that Ethel & baby may get on well.
Henry Blair was at home. He brought me home on his new car. I was glad. I cant walk much now like I once could. I am glad of any kindness that is given to me.
Friday, April 14, 1922
A good day. Jim plowed and Ben ditched on the Spring Branch. The school children come home at twelve oclock. Josie got dinner. I sewed on my quilt. I finished it. This evening Josie and Ben went to [Mount Airy] this evening. I washed up the dinner dishes while they were gone. Franklin is sick yet. Henry has gone to George Blains to go gigin. This is first trip of that sort. I hope that nothing wont happen to him. I am worried about things in spite of knowing I should be thankful that things is no worse.
Saturday, April 15, 1922
A good day Ben & Jim finished the ditch and cleaned out the springhouse. Jim plowed this evening. Ben worked on his car a little. Josie baked a cake this morning. Together we got dinner then I went to Reynols's. Bruce is at home. He brought Mollie some of the nices candy I most ever saw.
Christenia was colering eggs for Easter. Johnson was fixing his tobacco land. Jim set one turkey today. Hope that the others will set soon.
