with the system of the apts., and one guy in particular goes AWOL checking out the communes on the outside who have gone back to a ritualistic primitive harvest society. There's a rock star guy who plays 3D planet vibrations for the grubbo blue collars, a horny 14 year old who is trying to impress everyone, sleeping with anything he can, helping to advance his ladder climbing in the bureaucracy of the apts. I can't say enough stuff about this book, it's a real treat to discover something like this, I could see why Silverberg gave up SF in the 70's when stuff like this gets pushed under the rug, never heard of this gold spire before. -- Bonnie Banks

Cabeza De Vaca's Adventures in the Unknown Interior of America

Having seen the movie a few times I found out this amazing book and slammed my head between the pages like a maniac. I, expecting a pagan psychitoc ranting El Topo type, saw the Spaniard Cabeza exploring the North American continent addled and spun with thoughts stuck in the Catholic religion. In the movie he's made into a witch doctor. In the book he's made into a witch doctor. However, he does everything in God's name with the sign of the cross over the sick and heals them in the book.

of Spain sent to basically help count the loot in the new continent. Stripping himself of everything he nakedly went around America and remade his brain into a sympathetic pro-Indian and said that all they needed was a direction to Christianity out of the barbaric state they were in. Crazy? It united the Indians and kept some from being outright slain, but the Catholic Church got paid along the way. The gold is probably still in the Vatican collecting interest... This book is fantastic!!!

Anthony Summer, The Secret Life of J. Edgar Hoover

This head of the FBI through 8 presidents had sex with young boys (ok 15+) one would fondle the other would read quotes from the bible before he'd slam the book down and have super sex with the kids. He dressed as a woman and asked people to call him Mary. All right, those are his good points. J.E.H. manipulated 8 presidents (he was in office as head of the FBI for a LONG time) having the dirt on all the election rigging that went on and the tapings of the sex goings-on that go with being a politician. He could not be stopped. When Nixon finally broke the news he had to be replaced, he died that night. JEH created a world where he was an absolute god with people creating a reality that suited him; the highest powers in the US bowed to him. The Mafia kept him in line with photos of him sucking cock of his right hand man Clyde that held him in check. That was perfect for him because he loved winning at the inside rigged horse races the Mafia ran. A truly perfect world for him. The Kennedy brothers who would fuck anythign that wouldn't crawl away had plenty of dirt on each of their records, tapes of them with Marilyn Monroe and the rest of the USA, beds creaking in unison to the beat of Hoover's open heart of endless blank tape. They both thought he was a psycho and his denial (it was for years and years) of the Mafia, being a complete myth in all the congressional speeches (the FBI monitored none of the Mafiosos as they were Hoover's pals/party companions) was just over the top. The Kennedys wanted to end the Mafia foreveer with some heads thrown in jail and Hoover could only threaten them with the sex tapes. AND the same Mafia guys the Kennedys wanted to jail helped rig the election to the presidency, another threat of exposure, plus Joe Kennedy (dad) used the Mafia to do bootlegging with in the 30's. JFK was hell bend on this Mafia trip so as a betrayer to the Mafia cause he was plugged. The FBI made a wet rag sweep of the non evidence and lied 1 million times to the investigative Warren commission about the Dallas assassination of JFK, case closed. Sirhan Sirhan killed the other younger Kennedy with 12 bullets from his 8-bullet revolver. IT'S MAGIC!!! Being partially black Hoover (his big secret up there with the gay thing) really had a thing to suppress the civil rights thing. He got endless reels on the national tours Martin Luther King did where in each town he would get a woman by money or fame, sending one of these tapes when he got the Nobel

Peace Prize (JEH) thought he was well deserving of it) along with a death threat. Being gay he still would fire and persecute all homosexuals in the FBI and rail on anyone overtly gay in a pat rant he had. These pat rants that would go on for an hr. would include communism and Aunt Mildred and the price of coffee, it didn't matter, these were mantras and made him the man with the rant, hence the man for the job to keep the US in line with reassuring platitudes of how the FBI fought the threats of the world. A comparison to Himmler's background is in here with the mother thing and the lists he kept on himself and everyone. A careful balancing system to put everything on paper making no grey spaces, all black and white. Get it on paper, it's reality. This guy was the biggest blackmailer I've ever heard about holding the absolute power of the president in his hand like 8 stupid puppets with spaghetti legs. Nixon thought he was a little more than Hoover in power (finally a president with balls) and fired him, gently, and thus the sham crumbled, he died in his sleep. After I read this book I was dumbfounded. This megalomaniac stunned me to the core with the story. My jaw was open then I shoved a flashlight into my eyes to see if I could feel anything. When I did feel discomfort I was able to get up and put the book on the shelf. F.U.C.K

God Guy (Comics page)

Story by Daniel Johnston Art by Bill Jeffery ©2001

Hey!!!

Hey!! -- You heard about that God guy?

What about that God guy?

I used to know God personally.

What do you mean?

I couldn't hear nothin' ... but I think I began to know God on a street one day ...

On this street I saw a single tin can with no paint on it ...

The wind was blowing it around and the whole time there was a little roach in it ...

Then out of the blue I heard a voice say "Somebody talking about me?"

Then the moon came out and everyone saw their favourite t.v. show and yelled we want pizza!!!

We want pizza!! We want pizza!!!

Hey!! I want pizza too ...
