On my bed Sunday morning

Dear Folks, I'm still here, plugging away and having loads of fun in spite of all. We have the grandest bunch in our squadon; we will be sorry to separate. It was bad enough when we came back to the barracks last Friday and found about 6 empty beds. The screening board met Thursday and about a dozen were called in. I didn't have to. Then on Friday, those who didn't make it were called out of class, and by the time we got back from class, they were packed and gone. Next week is the murder board, but we aren't letting it get us down. Some Company's do nothing but told about failing until they have themselves worked into a terrific tension. we still don't know where we stand.

I have Mary MacDougall's bars pinned on my blouse -- one under the pocket flap and the other under my right lapel for good luck. Mary Mac has gone to Georgia so she won't be able to pin them on officially, so you'll just have to come to get them on me. Just think , it will be only 9 days from today, that is, if we don't get any more measles cases and have to be quarantined. We're having about a case a day now in our Company. I'll let you know the finals as soon as possible. You had better get reservations on the trains, so you can be sure of getting on the darn things. I'll never forget how I stood and watched three trains leave from Chicago to Des Moines before I could get on one because I didn't have a reservation. I think I'll need my suitcase from now on, too. Could you bring it out with you. From now on, I think I can keep it with me, so it won't get banged up so much.

I must get busy on loads of things I have to do. I'll be seeing you soon, I hope.

Lots of love, Ginny
