Sir, In reply to your favor of the 18th inst. I regret to say that I cannot furnish you with any authentic documents respecting the corporate history of Cashel - What few there are, being kept most strictly private, for corrupt purposes. -- during the late municipal inquiry, several old charters, such as Henry IIIrd Richard IIIrd Elizabeth, Charles & J the IInd were talked of, but not produced, (Except that of Charles) - there is a most intelligent gentleman resident in Cashel, who has deeply studied this subject, and will, I am sure, greatly assist your researches on all subjects. - I mean Mr. John OBrien

who will be also very happy to do so- to him I refer you- I am also certain that the present mayor Counsellor Nicholas Mansergh, would, if applied to by you, supply any lists of mayors or members that are on record, as I heard him once say that he had such by him- of course my intrest in that quarter would be better let alone-
The Library at the Arch Episcopal Palace has no doubt many statistic and other data, I believe Arch Deacon Cotton would readily give you access to them.
The Dean of Cashel Rev. Macdonnel Parish Priest of that city is also most likely to possess many curious
facts of the days of old- he is a most kind patriotic man- you should if possible visit him.
I have now only to add that I shall be most happy to become a subscriber to your very useful work, and remain Sir Yours faithfully, Js Roe
