I so impress the resolution upon my soul, by the action of my executive conscience, that it becomes a determination and when the interview takes place, although my thoughts are then occupied with what we are talking of and may never think of my resolution, still if the determination influences my conduct.
After the interview is over, I review it, and ask myself whether my conduct accorded with my resolution.
If it did, I am satisfied.
If I inquire still further whether my conduct accorded with my ideals so bringing it before the bat of my indicial conscience by or as we say "searching my conscience".
Then if it did so accord the legislation of my conscience is satisfied.
If not I feel the string of conscience.
The accounts have given certainly holds good.
That is to say, the satisfaction consists in an accord between reflexions that take place during or after the act with something that existed before the act, whether an ideal, or resolution, or some natural disposition.
Whether or not this is true of the satisfaction derived from what we call pleasure, is a question concerning which there is room for
