O. Scott addressed the court as follows
Information having reached us of
the death of Archbishop Eccleston
and from the intimate manner in
which he is connected with your
Honor as well as from the high position
he occupies in society I move on
the part of the bar that the Court
be adjourned over to Monday
next to give your Honor and others
allowing Court an opportunity of
attending the funeral
Judge Eccleston replied that
he was gratified to receive this
expression on part of the bar,
that afflictions of late had fallen
heavily around him, that since
the decease of his brother he
was now the only survivor
of his fathers family, and that
