Dear Miss I received your kind letter on the 31st of July
it gave me much pleasure to hear you was well but I am
sorry to hear you cannot enjoy yourself I thought when you
left this if you was dissatisfied that you intended to come
back you write you have waited a long time for an answer
I never recieved your's therefore I thought you have never
written, and I would write no more, you brother when he
was up told me you was very well satisfied, and also
told Mrs. [gap] same and [gap] thought you was so well
satisfied that you had forgotten [gap] we are all well and I
am in hopes these few lines will find you both enjoying the same blessing
the people hear are very healthy. The crops of wheat are not good
good as they were last year owing to the wet wheather.
The crops of corn at this time are very promising, wheat
is worth fifty cents per bushel and corn the same, you wanted
to hear how the Mclure Law suit is going on there was noth
ing [nothing] done at June court, as you was anxious to hear for a friend
that wished to know, it gives me some satisfisfaction to hear of
a friend in that, it has given me a great deal of uneasiness.
I want you to tell you Brother what Mc.lure has stated that
the day [???] run the line between Mr. Jones and himself
that Mclure asked him was the fence his and Mr. Mccuddy
said it was in the presence of Mr. Jones, and agreed that
it was and that he had no claim to it, and that Mr. M.cuddy
will qualified on oath to that I wish him as a friend to write to Mr.
Jones as soon as you review this, [gap] by so doing he will verry
oblige and you wished to hear from [gap] Price he is [gap]
he died on July the 21st.. Mrs Louisa Paine's death is looked
for every day with the same complaint, Mrs. Flemming
has another daughter Mrs. Hagar has an heir, Bird Smith
has bought Mr. Linns place. I saw you sister [ ? ] the 21st of July he told
me that she looked for you verry hard in four weeks
but many she never expected to see again in this world
you say you have no expectations of getting company
