This deed made this first [struck:] day of
January 1858 witnesseth that I
Wirt Robinson of the City of Richmond
in the State of Virginia have
emancipated and do by these presents
emancipate my slave James Turner,
aged thirty six years, and do hereby
release and discharge him forever from
all manner of servitude. Witness my
hand and seal the day and date
aforesaid.

Corporation of Richmond to wit:
I Abel U. Mayo a Notary Public for the corporation
aforesaid in the State of Virginia do certify that Wirt Robinson
whose name is signed to the writing above bearing date on the
first day of January 1858 has acknowledged the same before
me in my corporation aforesaid. Given under my hand
this 6th day of January 1858

In the Office of the Court of Hustings for the
said City the 6th day of January 1858
This deed was presented and with the certificate theron admitted
to record at half past Two Oclock PM
