The fog was so thick
up here yesterday after noon at
4 o'clock, that I thought it
prudent to wire you not to
expect me if I was not punctual
to the time. At seven o'clock
it is still so uncertain, (and the
outlook for returning as bad
as it is for Patti; concert
the other night,) that I was
reluctantly compelled to forgo
