C. D. Warner. Hartford May 12 1883 My Dear Stedman, I do not need to introduce to you, except for sake of form, Mr George E Woodberry who is doing Poe, in the American Men of Letters. I hope I can count upon your interest in our series, to the extent that you will do for Mr Woodberry what you would do for me - give good advice and information as you consistently [ can --? it ?]

Poe material. Mr Woodberry would [bid, list ?] alms to [Mr Mrs Stutland, ?] and I hope you can bring it about. I do not think it but for me to give him a letter to Mr[ Stutland,?] for I perceive he was a little cool to me, perhaps because I have not asked his assistance in the series. Your friend C. D. Warren
