Grace, --

Where, oh where-are you today? We learned at the Cunard Line office when you passed "Browshead" and how you probaby landed in Liverpool early Saturday morning.

We are wondering if you are in London today and went right on over to Paris. Wherever you are my own true love, I am talking to you and want to tell you of several of the little incidents which have taken place since Wednesday. --

On Friday evening sister Grace wanted to go to the Christian Endeavor Social at the [Rautier ?] house and as Tyler was in town and

George down in Wheeling W Va - no one was here to make her happy but me. - So as we had talked a few weeks ago about the dear little girls at her age, I thot - what is the good of having brothers unless they make their little sisters happy - Before - during the afternoon on Friday Grace had walked with me to the woods over the Saure route we took two weeks ago this afternoon. She was more than delighted to walk with the old native guide to the river - She told me in such innocence that I had never walked to the woods with her before. She had never penetrated the woods beyond the roads and it was most pleasing to escort her to the old Elm and down in the "kitchen" and amid thousands of violets. The dear sister sat down in one cluster and picked a whole handful without changing her position and when I wanted her to come to a better spot she said - She never before believed our stories that flowers were so thick we had to step on them To say I thought of you is a poor expression of my feelings. I longed for you as we sat under a canopy of pink wild crabapple blossoms whose fragrance is unequaled except by the English violets. I told sister Grace how good a time we had in the quiet woods a few days before - Now to tell you we both thought of

home to think of how I had appeared in Society without you it was so strange but it seemed as if you were with me Many people asked kindly about you - our friends are without numbers - our enemies few. Leicester and I have had real good breakfasts together over here at my house, the dear [ brother ?] is realy geting acquainted with me, in a way. we never should, - had not just these circumstances come about. - The other night he came in and sat on my bed, [ ?] Uncle Tyleys, - and we had such a good talk just before we went to sleep. - Last night when I came home to your house after a [ ?] chapter, he said, - "Get [ ?]

Laura is also true, so we gathered a huge bunch of violets, bluebells, phlox, Jack in the Pulpits and many others - these I left at 77 N. Oakley with Grand Ma Burr, Saturday morning as I was on the run to one of my last final examinations, which went off beautifully. - I have not seen Laura since the day you went away. To return to Friday evening at the Social, - I met one dear brother Leicester with Miss Reed and Grace - a pleasant time. - It was a very quiet harmless evening, but made several pleasant acquaintances for us in the future days, a Mr and Mrs. Van Platten were exceptionally pleasant. - Oh my love how strange I felt when I came

to read, - never did I know or realize the real character of that book until the last few chapters were read. I am sure there were many little things called to my attention which made me a truer man and shall hope to profit, - the mistakes of Jacques will never be forgotten - Today at Sunday School I grasped the hand of other true friends. Flossy Getchel Smith and her husband - Wes Smith wants so much to have a letter from you while you are away. She has a baby picture for you she said, - they were at Mrs. [Geskes ?] for Sunday. All nature is in her

of that good brown bread and I will furnish the pickled peaches, - So a trip over [some ?] soon brought over the brown bread and in a short time, Elsie and I were seated about your kitchen table enjoying a ten oclock lunch. - Just as you are getting your five meals a day in England, we had as much yesterday. - We both propose putting on some flesh while you people are away. One night I think it was Thursday I was in your house studying until Elsie came home about half after nine, - study was dry, - I thought of you and went out to your book case and took Marie which we started away last fall. - I found where we left off and went [as, on ?]

Glory today. - The trees are quite all in leaf and we are shaded from the heat of the sun. - The Clyde people sent word last night by Els to bring [Sue ?] over next time, - so after the examinations have ceased and a host of other details arranged I may run away over to Clyde? My hair is again long and bushy and would suit you to the "T" I am certain. Yesterday afternoon I never saw a man more surprised than your Uncle [Miller ?] who walked in [Sleach and ?tle's ?] store and up to my desk and said, "Is the stocking ready for M. Hall?" I said, "How do you do Mr. Hall I will see!" He was almost scared. - He was given his

stocking and he told me he had bought his ticket to sail on the Leucania on Saturday next, just two weeks later than you sailed. I told him in a few words why he saw use in SV&S's store.- You can explain more to him when you see him at Matlock. He will gain a great deal from this trip I am sure. He has often given me some very encouraging words about commencing practice. I have seen Fred Hall recently and he is seemingly well and happy. Yes, another bit of news, Willoughby says all the Oberlin Professors are still talking about your singing and liken you to Louise Clary - Monday A.M. My dear Love, This is a regular
