My Dearest,

Both your happy notes received; so both extremes of my journey were made cheerful.

You must not talk or feel as you expressed yourself in that first note. I do not like it, Dear One, --We understand each other so truly that no question of gifts given or received can be of any consequence to either of us; Darling -- believe that I love you for yourself; and for nothing that you can give me.

I enclose your ticket and a program for the concert: You can wait in the audiences

room of the church or come forward after the concert for me. I shall go down by myself early and dress at Dr. Sull's, but will come home with you direct.

They do not hope for much of an audience, as many of the tickets have been purchased by people who do not intend to come but have taken them as a charity - so we know the receipts are good at least and that is all that matters. The poor lady for whom the benefit is given is very much in the same condition as Mama was. Well, Clarence, dear, must say Goodnight, as I am a very tired little girl - You must look as if you believed what I was saying when I sing "Your Princess" tomorrow night

Your loving Sunshine
