HOTEL BURGUNDY 8, rue Duphot, 8 PARIS Tuesday Eve. 9 P.M. May 26th 1896 My Darling One, I expect your next letter tomorrow morning but feel that I must chat with you a little tonight, as I may be too exhausted by the journey of tomorrow to do any writing. We leave Paris in the morning and shall be in London by tomorrow night. Monday, that is yesterday, we started for Versailles in the morning and in the afternoon took in the Tour Eiffel. know the opera by heart and it is one of the great things in life which I want you to enjoy with me, sometime. This presentation was simply superb, all the artists were total strangers to us as far as having any reputation in America, but they were great. As I hear that wonderful music in my ears, still, the tears rush to my eyes. Oh! if you could only once feel the soul of music pervading your whole being, you would understand me so much better. Sometimes I suffer with the thought that the language of my life, the great soul language of music is to you as a foreign tongue - and I turn cold and wretched at the thought, but, it is over -

God did not make us all alike, and I love you, darling - so forgive me - Today we shopped a little and visited again the great Salon of this year's art work I have kept track so far, of each item in the graduating week and tomorrow night I shall withdraw early, so that I can be with you in spirit and prayer through your graduating time. God bless you, my loved one. When I wake in the morning, with my first thought, my spirit flies away across the expanse of space, and kisses you good morning - I wonder if you entertain those spirit visits, and receive the kisses in your dreams.
