I find it hard to go to bed without a goodnight kiss, though I am already to turn my gas out and start for dreamland. I went down and called on Miss Mae Van this afternoon. She is very beautiful, Claire, she quite reminds me of Cleopatra with those fathmomless depths in her beautiful eyes. She said I was a great surprise to her as she had pictured me in her mind's eye, as a

very little girl. Her room mate has just gone and she[?swifly begged me to come and live with her.
I should like her very much I am sure, but I could not endure the forlornness of her room, and the heighbors had likewise. I realize how fortunate I am when I see how others are [?placed.] I do not think I want her to come and room with me however, because I should not be able to live my own life, then, and it would seem as if she [?came] between you and me she is coming down to spend the afternoon with

me, next Sunday and she is going to write Orson Lowell to meet me some evening. He is a celebrated painter. we were schoolmates together all through grammarr school. I had no letters today but shall no doubt have some tomorrow. I go to Madame for my 3rd lesson tomorrow morning. Well darling I must say goodnight, and God watch [?between] us while we are absent one from the other. Your own loving girlie Grace P.S.
