Stoneleigh. Wednesday.

Darling-

I was very pleased to have another letter from you this morning.

I went to Lisa's grave on Saturday. You can imagine what a sad thing it was to have to do. It was tidy, but of course quite plain & nothing on it at all. I spoke to the man, & when that particular section is complete, it will be turfed over & kept tidy. The best thing will be to arrange for certain flowers & plants - & whatever we decide & want will be done, year by year, & we of course pay the appropriate sum. You know much more about flowers than I do, so will you think & let me know what you would like. I think small flowers & plants are the nicest - such as crocus & snow drops, which came up early - & then others to follow on for as long as possible.

About carving a stone, sweetheart, I know

it will be awfully difficult for you - but I hope you will do it. There is one thinga drawing has to be made & passed by the authorities, whoever they are. This seems to me pretty insulting, when you consider the ugly things which are in use - but there it is.

There is just one thing darling - I don't know whether we want the name Massey on the stone or not. But apart from Lisa, I would like Barbara & Harry to be on - that is our three Christian namesbecause we were all so much together & loved each other so much. And will do.

I don't think I can write much more in this letter. But I will write tomorrow & tell you all about myself & the life I lead.

I am now reading the Grapes of Wrath - which is very interesting, but almost too grim in parts.

about your plan - you can imagine that I am so happy that you are very keen about it. I didn't intend to imply in my letter yesterday that my thinking it a good plan was conditional on you coming to the Welsh coast. Only that, other things being reasonably equal, I would infinitely prefer it. But I shall be hearing from you about that.

And darling - about the fact that we seem to get on badly at your familys, well - lets say no more about. I think there are misunderstandings & faults from both of us - but we must not allow it to happen again.

And now for supper - my book - & bed at 10 o'clock.

One thing - about your nasty dream - I shall [begin underline] never [end underline] be unfaithful.

All my love sweet. Harry.
