published some fairly [?] letters - a number of which have complained about the letters from home to the M.E. None have complained about the reverse procedure, & so I think I will.

I was so glad to see from your p.c. that you do not look upon your move to Cambridge as a permanent arrangement, but only as an experiment, & that you may move on to [Caernarvan?]. I had another letter from Vera today, saying how much she was looking forward to hearing from you again, & that you would go & stay up there - & "what a darling you were" & how she would like to have you near.

The [?] is an absolute bugger - I quite agree! I'm afraid I cannot make any helpful remarks or suggestions; I am so out of land, _ slow of information. But I will send an A.G. to Gordon laying out the position, which may help. But do not worry, sweetheart - we must pay on what we earn. And we are both spending the minimum. My last L30 was drawn on Jan 19th & I think I wrote & told yo9u that it would last until May - I am now quite sure that it will last until July. But the [?] of I.T. are quite right you know. Even if I were to become a Lt Col., most of the increase in pay would be absorbed in tax. Starting from our [?], until today, we have put by L4-500, & Marie is safely born & growing up. So our position is wonderfully improved, in spite of the war - so please darling, do not

worry - & do not be too stringy with yourself.

Your letter to the Ottawa Bank about Pessach was very good, & it is quite evident that you can deal out a good rocker too. They have reinvested the allowance now, but in a very ungracious way. I promptly wrote & thanked them rather acidly, & I asked them to say that [Ressah's?] job was assured, for after the war. My letter was dated Feb 5 (my birthday) & they replied on 18 Mar, as follows "I am unable to give an answer to the question contained in the penultimate paragraph of your letter, & am referring the matter to my London office." Makes you sick, doesn't it? The man in London's reply to you that their Palestine manager is now an office boy, seems to have been without foundation. Anyway - I think the correct answer would have been that he had better watch his step, or else he will not even be there after the war, when the Banks are nationalised. The bloody shits - how I hate them.

Saturday morning - & I must polish this off - post it in a few minutes. I am going off with Ben, at 12.0 o'clock, & we are spending the week end going round some of the settlements in northern Palestine & down by thes ea of Galilee - the main purpose being to find recruits for the Cmy. I hope we shall get some - but in any case, we should have an interesting time & I shall see some more

of the country.

I am packing up & sending off by sea mail, this morning, some more photographs of, taken by the same man as before. Three are poses - & you will decide whether you like them or not. And the ot her two are taken in my room & you can now see roughly, what it is like. The one one of my writing is amazing for detail - the photos of you & Lisa are almost as good as the originals. The man is making me some smaller ones, which I will send on by air mail. You will be getting fed up with my love, darling! I wish you would send me as many as I send you - I want some more of you so much. And especially some pretty, sexy ones, sweetheart, which you did say you thought was very right & proper, & which you promised to do for me. Please make an effort, my darling. My imagination is very good, & I think about you very passionately, & as I am sure you would about me. But some pictures would be lovely to have.

Love to Marie, please darling, & a big kiss & a big hug. And all the love to you, my beautiful sweetheart wife & many, many long & loving kisses. Your own loving & adoring husband - Harry.
