I arrived in Chester about 4-0 p.m. & picked up the luggage at the station. The fees had accummulated to 5/- exactly- I told you they would! So I took the whole lot in a taxi to the Grosvenor after which I had no idea what to do. So I phoned Frank & the faithful old boy came into Chester. We had a meal & he talked & talked & wouldnt stop talking & eventually got to Elaine Leigh at 10.30 p.m.

Barbara darling -
I do hope that you had a decent journey yesterday & arrived alright at Stanmore. I have missed you terribly since you left & have felt very lonely & miserable. But of course now that I am back, I seem to be in the normal spin of not having a minute to myself.

I saw the Chairman yesterday morning & Pickstone as well. They have promised to do everything possible to get me out & back to work - & I hope they keep their word this time. I have
