Altrincham Sunday

Darling - I am so very glad that you are coming up next week end, apart from the fact that I am longing to see you - communication by letter & phone is an unwieldy business, & especially so when we have such vital & important things to talk about. I could have easily written you very much more about what Dr Groves said - but I gave you all the essential parts, & I was so afraid of giving you any wrong impressions, or making any misunderstandings which would be difficult to straighten out again by letter or phone. Your last letter about your Dr's remarks was not at all clear, you know. It was wonderful to hear from you on the 'phone last night that the specialist had said that you had nothing to worry about for another child. That is what I felt & what my father said yesterday, but neither you nor I would ever have

felt happy or satisfied about it, until you had got this Definite opinion from a specialist. You will understand that I am very anxious to hear all that he said.

I have been thinking about next week, & don't you think it would be rather nice to stay in Liverpoool at Kathleens's digs? You would get a through train from Euston to L'pool & Kathleen would meet you at the station, & we should then have the place to ourselves, complete with a double bed from Sat morning until Sunday evening. I can arrange a car lift from L'pool to Peover on Sunday. You have never seen Liverpool - & there will probably be a good show on for Sat - perhaps at the Playhouse.

I will look for a pub this

week. I think there is a small pleasant one quite near our Hall - & then I could stay out for sleeping. Will you let me know about Liverpool by return - as Kathleen says she must let the woman know. And then you can tell me then or later which train you will come up on. K can meet you any time of the day. I will send you a reduced fare voucher. And I shall get to L'pool by about 8-0 p.m.. K's address if you write to her, is - 2, Princes Gate East, Princes Park, Liverpool.

I enclose letters from Frank - & Dorothy Carson.

Also some rather sweet snaps

of Lisa - & one of you & Lisa. They were found in [the crossed out] a handbag in the box of things which you gave to Ethel - & Ethel gave them back to Ma. I don't remember these darling. did I take them & have we the negatives? I should have liked to have kept them, but I thought they would cheer you up a bit - & that your Mother would like to see them.

I spoke to Pam on the 'phone today. Porsh & Eileen come up tomorrow - & I am hoping to see them on Tuesday or Wednesday. Pam & Mrs Board send their love to you - also Eric & old Mattias who I saw yesterday.
