Providence 11th Mo. 2nd 1861

Dear Cousin R. B. Stevens Thy letter of the 29th of last month came duly to hand, and the six packages of Butter were received to day. Thee remarks that prices have been very low, they have been even lower than 18 cents here, I believe however that there had been some improvement in prices within two or three weeks past, and I am satisfied with the price named by thee - and herewith I enclose J. Luther Cashier Blackstone Canal Bank check N. 6534 on Webster Bank, Boston, Endorsed by me payable to thy order, for the amt. of thy bill, say Fifty Seven 06/100 Dollars, which please acknowledge receipt of and oblige, Truly thy friend

Joseph C. Peckham
