Dear Mother:
As it is most a week, now
since I wrote thee I will spend a short
time, to-day, in doing so, not that I have
much to write, which will interrest any
one, but more, to let you hear from
me [underline]often[/underline]. I have given up the idea,
of writing [underline]answers[/underline], as I do not have any,
now-a-days- to answer. Where is Ann?
I mean the Ann who wanted me to be
sure to write her once in two weeks? It is
now most two months since her last
date to me, (June twelfth.) Though it
may be, a letter from her, is on the way
now, so I will not accuse her; in fact
I think I will write her a few lines to-
day, instead.
