East Montpelier 20th of 2nd mo. 1862

Dear Wm.

Though I have written to thee once this week - getting thy letter containing twenty dollars on third day evening - I concluded thee would like to hear of its safe arrival - Tho. has exchanged it at the bank & says he will allow thee interest on it, as soon as he can put it to use - which will be before long - We are having an abundance of snow this winter & the wind is also doing a great deal it is hard keeping the roads passable - we go to meeting through the east village & have for a month -

Balon is to lecture tonight & I fear he will not get a full house which has been the case almost every time- When Coleby came & saw so
