We wer much obliged for thy kindness in informing us of your sad intelligence. it was sad to us all to here of Williams death. we hoped he would have been restored to you & us. we can't feel as you feel but we can simpathise with you in your sorrow. my Sister Mary was here at the time. she has a son in the army (or nurse in Hospital) his time is nearly out. she to could feelingly drop the tear of simpathy. we would like to know whether you have received the parsel & whether the letter was written after he was wonded. Ann is probaby with you now. we should be glad to see her here. perhaps she will go with thee to the Quarterly Meeting if thy health

Proposals of Marraige came to before our Preparative meeting last week signed by Lindly M Mcomber & Lydia A Daken. B & R Levensworth attended our Meeting to day. we seldom see them here. we here that Jessy May has been very sick so they wanted Robert to go one night & watch. he was better before we herd of it. he has a relative there (to uncle Stevens) that is a Thonsonian Dr. they think he will help him. Silvia Beach is sick abed. she was attacked with Coleramorbus day before yesterday. was feeble before so that she was not able to do her work without a girl so that she is [nowclear?] down & Robert looks more lonely than before. the rest of our relatives & friends I believe are in usual health.

Rufus joins me in much love to thee & all thy children. we want to here from you often. I close as Rufus is going for our girl. she attended Methodist
