Status: Needs Review

[1862]

I received
two letters from Ann to-day & have
written her in answer: as one of
them was from home I write there
in answer to it. I am getting well
as fast as I can now have plenty
to eat; a good bed & kind [treatments?].
I am glad to hear you had so good
times New Year's day. Isaac seems
to be favored with Leaves of Absence.
If I were in our Lines, I would make
strenuous efforts to visit home, also.
I may be there, as it is, ere Spring is
over. Do not worry for me, for I am sat-
isfied of coming out, all right in the
end: but [underline]that[/underline] is not yet. why is Hor-
ace at home so soon? Though it is no
surprise I wish for the reason. It seems
[Tim?] & Jas. have all the freedom one need
wish, but "not I." [page torn]
