Dear Mother:- I want to tell you about a pleasant week end I have just spent. I was in Paris from Saturday noon untill Sunday night. I spent the night at a nice hotell and slept on a real bed between white sheets and pulled off my clothes to sleep. It did not seam like being in the army. I had to pinch myself to see if it was me.

I had a little money left from my last pay day and I got plenty of good eats. Paris is like any other city in that respect you can get any thing you want to eat if you have the money.

There is lots there to see such as parks, museums, sculpture, art and war trophies both ancient and mordern.

Have you heard anything from my insurance.

Your devoted Son Pvt. J. B. Exum Co. D. 306 Am. Tr. U.S.A. P.O. 704

Dear Mother:-

I received a letter from you yesterday. I certainly was glad to get it.

You told me about Haywood being at Camp Jackson. I certainly am sorry for him. I know it will go hard with him not to be able to go hunting this winter.

You wrote me that Bob. Ed. Cook was in the same town I was in. I have been in a great many towns and I wish you would

tell me what town I was in when I wrote to you. Send me his address.

I heard from sister yesterday. Am glad she and the kids are getting along so well.

How did Ralph think my Tobacco sold?

Have you ever gotten straight with the Phone Co. I think they owe me about $142.00.

If George sell my cotten and tobacco you can have the money and if there is more than you need invest it for me.

The scenery around here is not worth mentioning.

Write to me real often and number your letters.
