7th Barzillai Bernher, Margaret Jay, Sarah
Rawson & her child are here on a visit. Margret
is very unwell, she came across the water for
the recovery of her health, but at present she
has not been benefitted; her complaint is
principally ulcers in her throat, her situation
has become critical, & doubtful whether she
gets well - They staid about a month
& returned home with David Bunker-
Margaret was in a state of recovery

1st. 8m. The wather is very warm & dry; all
vegetation seems to be in a suffering condition
The thermot. frequently ranges from 85
to 90.- and a very sultry hot air; but
it is generally healthy, except frequent
instances of the bowel complaint.

5. 8. Much rain has fell to. day & yesterday -
The ground is fully soaked through.. -
Sufficient to bring a good growth of
second crop, & plenty of fall feed

3rd. 9m Sincethe above mentioned rain, the
weather has been, dry, & no rain ~
the land is in a parched state.
Gardens of late are mostly dried up -
& the common land destitute of grass
for the cows -
