Felt no pain at all at first until my wound
was dressed by First Aid unit

When beaching our L.C.T. hit a mine just as
the loading ramp was down, and a dispatch
rider, unknown to me was killed.

you more than anything else?
Perhaps the church service held aboard our
L.C.T. on June 4th. when we were told our

the rough weather.
Slipped anchor at 12 noon June 5th amid
an extremely choppy sea.
