Louisa County on August 16th 1862

My Dear Father

This beautiful evening finds one
At Louisia Courthouse a distance from Richmond
Of 60 miles north of Richmond was? H?
Only just halted at Louisia Courthouse to wait
For the wagons and the B?? of Auxillary Div
Ision we will leave here to night or tomorrow
And go towards Gordonsville or at Gordonsville
We understand that Jackson has taken up a
March in pursuit of the Yankees so we will be
A lot?? To follow on after him There is a larger army?
Army? Already at Jackson’s command equal or more
than was at Richmond.

Walton are all well I send by ?uit Wooding
