Mr. Tilton Esq.
Deputy minister of Fisheries
Ottawa

Sir

Referring to the contents
of your telegram of today [?]
to Gauthier and his nets. I beg
to state that, I immediately wired
Mr Chas Wilmot at Wiarton
subject matter of the telegram from
you. -- It is matters of serious
regret that, Mr Gauthier has not
exerted himself to carry out the
arrangements entered into with your
Dept:-- I very here briefly say that
it is a point of inexcusable [regret?]
on his part to disappoint our expec-
tations in getting supplies of eggs
thus far; particularly as the work
was so satisfactorily performed
last year upon the new basis
then established -

As before stated to you that
Mr Gauthier giving him timely
notice, and full details in every par-
ticular of the minutia of the work
to be done, and to be in [readiness?]
for any assistants to [convince?]

to work, and I have accordingly
instructed Mr Wilmot to push
Gauthier and his men to their
very utmost in getting the nets
[?], so that we can get some eggs
if not all that we may want.

Our dependence upon
Capt. Allan would have
been far more reliable than
upon Mr Gauthier, as the latter
has had [extensive?] fishing [sections?]
[?], that it would not pay him
to remove his nets and fish them
at Wiarton if it were not for some
other object in view, than the
mere payment of $30 [?]
in his [apremists?]

I will inform you
of [proceedings?] at Wiarton
as they may transpire.

I am Sir
Yours Obdly,
Sam Wilmot
Supt

Text had bled a lot and was pretty tricky, even when referring to the higher quality documents.
