Bond for Powder Storage License CITY OF SEATTLE

Know All Men by these Presents: That we, the Pacific Hardware Company, Incorporated as principal, and C. Y. Jeffrey and Jas L. Sharp as sureties, all of King County, State of Washington, are held and firmly bound unto THE CITY OF SEATTLE, a municipal corporation of the State of Washington, in the sum of Twelve Hundred Dollars ($1200.00) to the payment of which well and truly to be made we jointly and severally bind ourselves, our and each of our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns firmly by these presets.

The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas, on the 28th day of Nov., 1894, the above bounden principal was by the City Council of the City of Seattle, granted a license for the period of one year from the 8th day of October, 1894, to the 8th day of October, 1895, to keep, store, sell, use, handle and transport within the limits of the City of Seattle dynamite, nitro-glycerine or compounds thereof, hercules powder or giant powder and other explosives upon the conditions named in ordinance No. 3480 of said city.

Now, therefore, if the above bounden principal shall well and faithfully observe all of the conditions of said ordinance and the several provisions thereof, and shall pay all damages which may accrue by reason of the violation of any of the providions of said ordinance, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue.

STATE OF WASHINGTON, COUNTY OF KING. SS. E. Y. Jeffrey and Jas L Sharp being duly sworn, each for himself on oath deposes and says: That he is one of the sureties who signed and executed the within bond; that he is a bona fide resident of the State of Washington; that he is not a counselor or attorney at law, sheriff, clerk of the superior court, or other officer of such court, and that he is worth the sum of Twelve Hundred Dollars, over and above all his debts, liabilities and exemptions allowed by law.
