118th Meeting

Met at Wm S. Bond's Nov 6th 1880. Having
only eight of our members including host and
hostess. The rain preventing many, or we fear
a lack of interest in the Society_ also having
its weight. Any society is just what its
members make it_ a source of improvement
or a mere nothing, and it has been suggested
by some, that the Home Interest was fact
merging into "the latter state". Now for the
honor and standing of the heads of 12
young families in the community dont
let it go forth that a society professing
to have organized for the benefit of homes,
and home circles has gone down lacking
the little extra life and exertion necessary
to keep it up_ Two of our valued
members have lately withdrawn, taking
with them our deepest regret, and we
hear rumours in the air that more soon
will follow. It seems to us that the time
has come for some decisive action, either
to make it a success by giving up some
of the meetings and having them only a
part of the year as the Horticultural, or else
drop the whole thing. I would like to have
a committee appointed at this meeting
